PARENTS AND FAMILIES

Our Approach to Working with Parents and Families

At Our Monkey Club, we believe that parents are co-educators and play a crucial role in their child's learning and development. Our approach is rooted in creating genuine, collaborative relationships with parents to support the best outcomes for their children. We recognize that parents know their children best, and our aim is to develop a shared language and understanding, ensuring that both home and nursery environments are aligned in supporting each child’s growth.
Open Communication: We prioritize consistent and clear communication with parents through various methods, including daily handovers, messages, observations, and regular parent meetings. This helps us provide updates on your child's progress and allows for valuable input from you about what’s happening at home.
Holistic Understanding: Our engagement goes beyond surface-level interactions. We actively seek to understand your child’s behaviour both at nursery and at home, using this information to create a holistic picture of their development
Building Trust and Confidence: We create an environment where honesty and respect are the foundation of our relationships with parents. Our practitioners are highly trained to offer constructive feedback and support in a way that is both tactful and empathetic, ensuring that any concerns are handled with care
Personalized Support: Every family is different, and we understand that engaging with parents requires flexibility. Whether through in-person conversations, virtual meetings, or tailored messages, we adjust our approach to meet the needs of each family
Shared Learning: We welcome parents to be part of the observation and analysis process. This collaborative method helps parents understand key concepts like schematic play and child-directed learning
Engagement Opportunities: We actively encourage parents to engage in their child’s learning by sharing observations, insights, and experiences. Through tools like the Famly App, weekly Learning Journals, and Parent Information Sheets, we maintain a transparent connection with families, ensuring that both the nursery and home environments align to support the child’s learning.
