Our Induction Process

At Our Monkey Club, we understand that starting nursery is a significant step for both children and their families. To ensure a smooth and comfortable transition, we have developed a comprehensive induction process that includes several stages. This process is designed to gradually introduce your child to the new environment, helping them feel secure and confident.

Initial Visit

Purpose

The initial visit is your first opportunity to see our nursery in action. During this visit, you and your child will tour the facility, meet the staff, and observe the children engaging in daily activities.

What to Expect

This visit is informal and is designed to give you a sense of the environment and routines. Your child will not be expected to participate fully but can explore and observe at their own pace.

Why It’s Important

This visit helps both you and your child become familiar with the surroundings, reducing any anxiety about the new setting.

Home Visit

  • Purpose: The home visit allows our staff to meet your child in a familiar and comfortable setting, helping to build a sense of trust and security.
  • What to Expect: A member of our team, typically the child’s key worker, will visit your home. This visit is focused on getting to know your child, their likes and dislikes, and any routines or comfort items that help them feel secure.
  • Why It’s Important: Meeting in your home helps your child form a connection with their key worker in a safe and familiar environment, which can ease the transition into the nursery.

First Induction

  • Purpose: The first induction is a short session at the nursery where your child can begin to explore the environment more actively while you stay close by for reassurance.
  • What to Expect: During this session, your child will spend about an hour at the nursery, engaging with toys and activities while you remain nearby. This allows them to start getting used to the environment with the comfort of knowing you are still present.
  • Why It’s Important: This stage allows your child to start exploring the nursery space while knowing that you are close by, helping them build confidence and curiosity in a new setting.

Second Induction

Purpose

The second induction is designed to further increase your child’s comfort and independence in the nursery setting.

 What to Expect

In this session, your child will spend a bit longer at the nursery, typically one to two hours, and you will be encouraged to step out for part of the time. This helps your child start to experience the nursery routine with the reassurance that you will return.

Why It’s Important

This stage helps your child begin to trust that they can enjoy their time at the nursery and that you will return, reinforcing their sense of security and independence.

Why Our Induction Process is Designed This Way:

The gradual nature of our induction process is intentionally designed to ease your child into the nursery environment without overwhelming them. By breaking down the transition into smaller, manageable steps, we allow your child to build familiarity, trust, and confidence at their own pace. This approach also gives us the opportunity to learn more about your child’s individual needs and preferences, ensuring we can provide the best possible care and support from the very beginning.

We believe that a positive start to nursery life lays the foundation for a happy and successful experience, and our induction process is a critical part of that journey.

This breakdown provides a clear, step-by-step explanation of our induction process, highlighting why each stage is important for helping your child adjust to their new environment. If you have any further questions or would like more detailed information, please don't hesitate to contact us.
